Previous longevity panel in Sydney
Hi, longevity enthusiast!
Welcome to all new subscribers!
In this issue I’m talking about:
Melbourne Longevity Panel
Longevity Landscape
1. Melbourne Longevity Panel
After two successful panels, one in Sydney and one in Brisbane, it’s time for a longevity revolution in Melbourne!
Join us for this absolute stellar line-up of internationally renowned local stars, as well as an esteemed overseas guest from Novato, California.
This event brings together some of the most innovative minds and leaders in the field of longevity to explore a crucial question: How do we shift the tide and position Australia as a global longevity leader?
As advancements in longevity science accelerate worldwide, Australia has the opportunity to embrace a future where preventative health and cutting-edge longevity biotech shape our national identity.
However, an old mentality, an outdated medical curriculum, the fringe perception of longevity—along with the turning breakthrough research into mainstream adoption and investment—remain challenging. This panel will try to address how to drive public enthusiasm, attract more funding, and foster a longevity ecosystem in Australia.
Panelists:
Dr. Ariel Zeleznikow-Johnston - a Neuroscientist and the Author of The Future Loves You: How and Why We Should Abolish Death. Ariel is also a Research Fellow at Monash University, Australia.
Paloma Newton - Founder, Elita Genetics.
Dr. Iman Azimi - Head of the Cancer Drug Discovery and Cellular Ageing Research Group, Monash University.
Dr. Lisa Sorger - Medical Director, Prenuvo Australia.
Dr. Matthew O'Connor - CEO of Scientific Affairs, Cyclarity Therapeutics.
Moderator:
Katia Dowling, Lumen Longevity

Everyone was worried about radiation of their wearables, when actually there is also PFSA to worry about—boo. Check what your wristband is made of: if it’s silicon—fine, if not, better swap for silicon or metal. Luckily I have a metal wristband on my Apple watch. This news also made me appreciate Oura ring more (not an ad).
🔋Is this the $200,000 ticket to cheating death?
Competent and very convincing Emil Kendziorra, who I met last year at a conference in Spain, totally flipped me from a non-believer to a big fan of cryopreservation.
This gives hope to people with terminal illnesses, when nothing else works.
For me, why get buried if you can be cryopreserved? You must die first to be suitable for cryopreservation, so you don’t really lose anything. And, in case you’re worried about the financial part, the model is quite attractive: your insurance pays for it, and all you pay is about $80 monthly while alive.
